10. Nursery school (kleuterschool):
The Zambian education system doesn’t provide in educating preschoolers. Having said that,
the value of this is accepted widely. In the cities ‘pre-schools’ are organized with private
funds. And also in this region the need for a nursery school was felt. We built this nursery
school with financial support from the Rotary Brielle. On average over 40 children make use
of these facilities since the opening day. The building consists of a spacious class room, a
small office and a storage room. The nursery teacher, Mr. Jonas Mwaba, is being granted a
financial allowance by the committee because the Zambian government doesn’t provide in
salaries for nursery teachers.
